B.B. King's Children Challenge Will, Accuse Manager of "Undue Influence"
Published May 25, 2015Last week, legendary blues musician B.B. King passed away at the age of 89. Over the years, King had 11 children with different partners. Four of them have since passed away, but many of King's remaining family members are currently in a legal battle over his will.
King's longtime manager LaVerne Toney is currently the executor of his affairs, but there is now some debate over whether or not Toney is the right person to handle these matters.
Larissa Drohobyczer, a lawyer representing the family, issued a statement over the weekend alleging that Toney had misappropriated millions of dollars, adding that he had "undue influence" over King's affairs.
Drohobyczer is representing King's daughters Patty King, Michelle King, Karen Williams, Barbara King Winfree and Claudette King Robinson, along with several other heirs.
When reached by the Associated Press, LaVerne Toney did not offer comment.
