'Halloween Kills' and 'Halloween Ends' Are Being Officially Postponed
John Carpenter and David Gordon Green just broke the bad news
Published Jul 08, 2020The ongoing pandemic has once again pushed back some highly anticipated film releases. This time, it's the new Halloween films, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, which will no longer arrive in theatres as originally planned.
Creator John Carpenter broke the bad news today, taking to his social media to announce the postponement of the David Gordon Green-directed follow-up to 2018's Halloween. Instead of being released on October 16, Halloween Kills will now arrive on October 15, 2021. This mean that the third new film in the series, Halloween Ends, won't now come until October 14, 2022.
An official statement penned by Carpenter and Green reads, "If we release it in October of this year as planned, we have to face the reality that the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience. After weighing our options, we have chosen to push the film's theatrical release by one year."
