Published Jul 05, 2019PTBO Musicfest is already underway in the Ontario town of Peterborough once again, celebrating its 33rd season.
In total, the festival will present 16 free live shows throughout the summer, on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at Del Crary Park at 8 p.m. — meeting their mandate to "provide diverse, affordable live music to enrich cultural and economic prosperity in our community."
Among the upcoming artists to perform at this year's festival are Sultans of String (July 6), the Reklaws (July 10), Crash Test Dummies (July 13), Said the Whale (July 17), Virginia to Vegas (July 20), the Sheepdogs (July 24), Tyler Shaw and Jayde (July 27), 54-40 (July 31), Tom Petty tribute band We Ain't Petty (August 3), Chad Brownlee (August 7), AC/DC tribute band Thunderstruck (August 10), Dwayne Gretzky (August 14), and the Rural Alberta Advantage and the Elwins (August 17).
City and Colour, Rod Stewart tribute act Doug Varty, and K-os with Five Alarm Funk have already performed.
To keep up the calibre of free live talent returning to Peterborough in future summers, the festival encourages all attendees to "Invest in Musicfest" by making a donation in order to "take an already great annual free admission summer concert series and elevate it to something more terrific still."
