Following a bevy of teasers, Afie Jurvanen has now released his new album as Bahamas. Right now, you can stream all of Earthtones to your heart's content.
The full album reveal comes in the wake of previously shared album cuts like "No Wrong" and "Way with Words." There's also "Bad Boys Need Love Too" — a song Jurvanen said was dedicated "to all the deadbeat dads."
Recently elaborating in an interview with Exclaim!, Jurvanen said, "I spent a lot of time angry with my dad because he wasn't around when I was growing up, and now that I have my own kids, I get a second chance in a sense. If there was now an opportunity for me to reach out to him, I'd say 'You're an asshole, but I love you anyway.' And we can build on that."
As previously reported, the album also hears Bahamas collaborating with members of D'Angelo's Black Messiah band, the Vanguard.
Earthtones is out now via Brushfire/Republic Records; you can order it on tan vinyl via Umusic. You can also see Bahamas' upcoming tour dates over here, as well as read Exclaim!'s review of the album here.
