No One Knew Who Tom Hanks Was on 'Jeopardy!' Last Night
It's always an honour to be turned into a Jeopardy! clue, but unfortunately, there's no guarantee that the contestants will know who you are — even if you're Tom Hanks.

The box office-smashing, Oscar-winning actor who has been famous for decades appeared in a clip from A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Alex Trebek prompted, "Beloved children's TV show host Mr. Rogers is played by this beloved actor."

Embarrassingly, none of the three contestants buzzed in to answer, "Who is Tom Hanks?"

One player hit the buzzer after time had run out, so in the end, it was Trebek who ended up having to reveal the answer.

Naturally, some people on the internet are outraged.

Some nerds, however, have pointed out that there was a technical difficulty in the TV studio — the light indicating that players could buzz in didn't light up.

Others still have pointed out that the video clues are notoriously difficult to see on the board from the players' vantage point.

Nevertheless, it's still hilarious to think that three people of Jeopardy!-level intelligence didn't know who Tom Hanks is.
